The North Western Railways, responding to escalating military tensions between India and Pakistan, has cancelled four trains and rescheduled five, impacting routes in Rajasthan. These cancellations predominantly affect services traveling near Munabao, located close to the International Borders in Rajasthan.
The decision was made as a precautionary measure owing to ongoing blackouts and emergency conditions on the border, according to Shashi Kiran, Chief Public Relations Officer of the North Western Railways. Passengers are urged to confirm the status of their trains through the railway website or helpline before embarking on their journeys.
The cancellations include trains such as the 14895 Jodhpur-Barmer Demu Express and the 14896 Barmer-Jodhpur Demu Express among others, while trains like the 12468 Jaipur-Jaisalmer have been partially canceled. Rescheduled trains include the 14661 Barmer-Jammu Tawi and the 14807 Jodhpur-Dadar Express. These adjustments are due to safety concerns over potential air strikes, particularly in regions with critical infrastructure.
