The Maharashtra government on Wednesday inked a significant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the Blackstone Group's subsidiaries, XSIIO Logistics Parks and Horizon Industrial Parks, projecting Rs 5,127 crore in foreign direct investment (FDI) and promising the creation of 27,510 jobs, according to government officials.

The agreement, formalized at the Sahyadri Guest House, involved Industries Secretary Dr. P. Anbalagan and Horizon Industrial Parks President R.K. Narayanan. This partnership seeks to establish state-of-the-art logistics and industrial parks in Maharashtra's prime industrial and logistics hubs, aligning with the Maharashtra Logistics Policy 2024.

Under the MoU, more than 10 modern industrial and logistics parks will be developed on 794.2 acres with constructions planned on 1.85 crore square feet. Locations including Nagpur, Bhiwandi, Chakan, Sinnar, and Panvel are targeted, with infrastructure aimed at sustainability. Key government and Blackstone leaders emphasized the transformative nature of this collaboration.
