A devastating road accident unfolded in Bihar's Saran district early Monday morning, claiming five lives and injuring at least 18 others. The tragedy occurred near Nayagaon when a pick-up van lost control following a tyre burst, officials reported.
Local authorities revealed that the vehicle, laden with passengers, veered off the road and overturned despite attempts to regain control. Four individuals died instantly, while another succumbed to injuries during treatment. The police rapidly intervened, transporting the victims to the nearest medical facility.
Senior Superintendent of Police Kumar Ashish confirmed that efforts are underway to identify the deceased and injured. The driver, who also endured injuries, is part of an ongoing investigation to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
