An Air India Dreamliner heading to Delhi turned back to Hong Kong on Monday after the pilot suspected a technical problem shortly after departure.
The aircraft, flight AI 315, safely landed back in Hong Kong, and its passengers disembarked without incident, according to an airline statement. The aircraft is currently undergoing a thorough inspection. Originally slated for an 8.50 am departure, the flight left Hong Kong at 12.16 pm and was supposed to arrive in Delhi by 12.20 pm IST.
Despite taking off after a delay of over three hours, safety concerns prompted the return. Air India stated that they are arranging alternative travel plans for the passengers as quickly as possible while providing all necessary assistance to mitigate inconvenience. Notably, an Air India Boeing 787-8 was part of a tragic crash a few days prior, emphasizing the urgency in addressing flight safety and technical checks.
