In a significant move for Odisha's economy, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced that his administration has created employment for 73,346 youths in just over a year. Speaking at the 'Nijukti Mela' employment fair, this milestone exhibits the government's commitment to tackling unemployment.

Majhi distributed appointment letters to 964 newly hired youths, predominantly junior engineers, highlighting a policy focus on both government and private sector employment. Emphasizing the high regard for government jobs, akin to cultural depictions in Bollywood films like 'Nayak,' Majhi noted the disproportionate interest of Odisha's population in such positions.

With current investments projected at Rs 13 lakh crore, Majhi expects these to catalyze private-sector jobs. Committed to further recruitment, the government plans to provide 1.5 lakh state service positions in the next five years, with an immediate focus on filling 65,000 vacancies. Ministers across various departments were present to support the employment initiative.
