Cyprus has been tapped to support evacuation efforts for citizens of Portugal and Slovakia stranded in the Middle East, according to Constantinos Kombos, the country's foreign minister.
Kombos confirmed that two active requests for assistance have been made.
The operation's outcome relies heavily on these civilians being able to access neighboring countries via road networks, underlined Kombos.
