Karnataka Minister Priyank Kharge has expressed his disappointment over the Centre's refusal to allow his official visit to the United States intended to woo multinational company investments into the state. Initially, Kharge was set to attend major conferences in Boston and San Francisco, but his plans were abruptly cut short.
Returning from Paris, Kharge said he intends to bring up the issue with the Ministry of External Affairs. According to him, the decision undermines Karnataka's reputation and potential for foreign investment opportunities, and thus, he seeks a valid justification for the rejection.
Kharge urged the Chief Minister to have a direct dialogue with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, emphasizing that the visit was strictly for investment discussions, not political engagements. The Minister underscored that investments in Karnataka would benefit both the state and the central government.
