According to the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), the telecom sector has witnessed a marginal rise in wireless service revenue. The Monthly Average Revenue Per User (ARPU) saw an increase of 0.64%, reaching Rs 182.95 in March 2025 from Rs 181.80 in December 2024.

The prepaid segment's ARPU stood at Rs 182.53, while postpaid was recorded at Rs 187.48 in this quarter. This uptick comes after telecom operators implemented recent tariff increases.

Additionally, the full-quarter report by TRAI reveals a 1.64% rise in overall Minutes Of Usage (MOU) per month, whereas internet subscribers saw a slight drop from 970.16 million to 969.10 million.

Wireline subscriptions also decreased, falling from 39.27 million to 37.04 million, posting a 5.67% decline. The report attributes this to the inclusion of 5G Fixed Wireless Access in the wireless category. This re-categorization contributed to a 9.62% year-on-year increase in wireline subscriptions for March 2025.
