In a significant display of India's economic strategy and global outlook, Union Minister of Commerce and Industry Piyush Goyal took center stage at the India Global Forum 2025 in London. Highlighted by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, this event followed the landmark signing of the India-UK Free Trade Agreement in May 2025.

During the Mainstage Plenary Session titled 'From Agreement to Action: The UK-India FTA,' Minister Goyal pledged India's dedication to transitioning the agreement from mere words to practical economic magnitudes. Joined by UK Secretary of State for Business and Trade, Jonathan Reynolds, Goyal emphasized the FTA as a testament to the shared ambitions of two dynamic democracies, promoting not just bilateral trade, but India's adeptness in forging balanced trade frameworks.

Addressing the next steps, the Minister pointed to key priorities like enhancing governance mechanisms, supporting SMEs and startups, and easing skilled professional mobility. Further discussions at a special session on UK-India collaboration in science and technology probed investments in digital infrastructure and manufacturing, propelling the 'Make in India' initiative alongside critical tech exchanges.
