Air India announced on Thursday its decision to reduce flights on 16 international routes and suspend service to three overseas destinations between June 21 and July 15, 2025. This move comes in the wake of a plane crash on June 12 in Ahmedabad.
Owned by Tata Group, the airline is taking these measures to ensure schedule stability and reduce last-minute inconveniences for travelers. The announcement aligns with a previous statement about a temporary 15 percent reduction in wide-body aircraft flights.
Suspensions will affect routes such as Delhi-Nairobi, Amritsar-London (Gatwick), and Goa (Mopa)-London (Gatwick). The adjustments are prompted by enhanced pre-flight safety checks and extended flight durations due to Middle Eastern airspace closures. Air India is contacting affected passengers to provide alternatives, including refunds and rescheduling.
