Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, alongside his father Farooq Abdullah, embarked on a journey on the newly inaugurated Vande Bharat train from Srinagar to Katra on Thursday. The train, recently launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, has witnessed overwhelming demand.

Omar Abdullah, joined by advisor Nasir Aslam Wani, arrived at Katra Railway Station, welcomed by National Conference leaders and workers. Speaking to reporters in Samba, Omar praised the service, highlighting its growing popularity among travelers between Srinagar and Jammu.

Given the train's popularity, Omar emphasized the difficulty in securing a ticket and expressed intentions to discuss with Rail Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw about potentially increasing train service frequency or adding more coaches to meet passenger demand.
