An explosion at the Sigachi pharma plant in Telangana's Pashamylaram industrial estate resulted in the deaths of at least 12 people and injured 34, according to Telangana Minister Damodara Raja Narasimha. The tragedy unfolded on Monday morning due to a suspected chemical reaction causing a fire.

Labour Minister G Vivek Venkatswamy reported that eight individuals were initially found deceased, with four more bodies recovered later. Efforts were made by the plant's management to alert local authorities, who promptly involved fire departments and rescue teams, stabilizing the situation relatively quickly.

National and State Disaster Response Forces (NDRF and SDRF) participated in the rescue operations, with ten fire engines brought in to control the blaze. Prime Minister Modi publicly shared his condolences, offering financial aid to affected families. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has directed immediate medical care for injured survivors.
