Union Minister H D Kumaraswamy met with Saud Bin Saqr Al Qasimi, the ruler of Ras Al Khaimah (RAK), to discuss significant strategic collaborations in the steel sector. A major focus was securing long-term access to the UAE's low-silica limestone and exploring green steel initiatives.

In a statement, it was revealed that the Union Steel Minister was in Dubai on Monday to inaugurate MECON and NMDC's new offices. The discussions also covered leveraging RAK's natural gas and local limestone for calcined lime production and forging trade partnerships via value-added steel exports from India.

Kumaraswamy extended invitations to further collaborate on infrastructure development, energy components, and essential raw materials. He highlighted India's view of steel as a pillar of infrastructure and manufacturing, emphasizing RAK's mineral wealth and clean energy prospects for collaborative strategies.
