Indian Railways Revamps Emergency Quota Submission Timings

The railway ministry has revised the emergency quota request timing as part of an operational overhaul aiming to streamline reservation chart preparation.

According to a new circular, requests for trains departing between midnight and 2 PM are due by noon the previous day, while those for trains leaving later must be submitted by 4 PM.

Requests submitted on the day of travel will not be considered, and public holiday procedures have been clarified. The ministry stresses compliance to avoid train delays and operational difficulties.
