Mudslides compounded by torrential rains have obstructed the Jammu-Srinagar national highway, leaving a multitude of travelers, including Amarnath pilgrims, marooned in precarious conditions.
Despite the swelling rivers and streams, flood threats remain at bay, yet authorities remain vigilant under a flash flood warning by the India Meteorological Department until July 24. Efforts to clear highway blockages are underway.
Throughout the Jammu region, continuous rain has prompted road closures due to landslides and flash floods, damaging infrastructure and homes. District authorities, responsive to the IMD alerts, have established control centers and caution residents against travel until conditions stabilize.
