Union Home Minister Amit Shah has lauded the recent signing of the India-UK free trade agreement as a 'historic' moment that carries immense pride and opportunities for all citizens. The agreement aims to elevate bilateral trade to USD 112 billion by 2030.
Describing it as a pivotal moment in global trade, Shah congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi for securing the pact, which he described as a hallmark of Modi's people-focused trade diplomacy.
The treaty eliminates duties on 95% of agricultural exports and 99% of marine exports, promising significant economic benefits for farmers and fishermen. Additionally, it facilitates 'Make in India' by opening international markets for artisans and various industries, thus enhancing their growth prospects.
