Mittal stated that India is keen on exchanging data solely with trusted partners, asserting that Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) facilitate establishing such secure relationships. He noted India's clear position on this matter, given its strong digital infrastructure and data consumption patterns.
Addressing potential internet disruptions, Mittal confirmed that the Indian government holds the authority to mandate shutdowns of services like Starlink, if necessary. The landmark trade deal, signed in the presence of Prime Ministers Narendra Modi and Keir Starmer, aims to enhance economic ties by reducing tariffs on goods and services between the countries.
