Kinetic Engineering Rides Back into Electric Two-Wheeler Market

Kinetic Engineering announced its strategic re-entry into the two-wheeler industry on Monday, shedding light on its ambitious plans to invest approximately Rs 177 crore within the next 18 months. The move aims to expand the sales network and increase production capacity.
The Pune-based firm, historically known for the Kinetic DX scooter from 1984 to 1998, aspires to become a prominent player in the electric two-wheeler segment over the next three years. The company has now launched the Kinetic DX scooter in an electric form, boasting a range of 116 km per charge.
Vice Chairman and Managing Director Ajinkya Firodia outlined the company's phased approach to scaling production and sales, targeting 1.5 lakh unit sales in 3-4 years with an expanded dealership network. Future plans include exporting the electric scooter and enhancing manufacturing innovations to address supply chain challenges.
