The Indian government has launched a series of digital initiatives to streamline and enhance the export process, focusing on transparency and ease of compliance particularly for MSMEs. Minister of State for Commerce & Industry, Jitin Prasada, highlighted these efforts in a Lok Sabha session.
Notable among the initiatives is the Directorate General of Foreign Trade's revamped e-Certificate of Origin (eCoO 2.0) system, which offers real-time, end-to-end digital certificate issuance. This system, incorporating QR code and Aadhaar e-signatures, integrates exporters with issuing agencies on a unified online platform, reducing manual processes.
Complementing this is the Ministry's Trade Connect ePlatform, designed to resolve trade queries and improve access to global markets. It provides critical resources such as Trade Agreements details, a Tariff Explorer, and guides for market access. Additionally, the Jan-Sunwai facility enhances stakeholder interaction through video conferencing, ensuring prompt grievance handling.
