Vande Bharat Express Expands: Doubling Coaches to Meet Demand

In response to soaring demand, Indian Railways has announced the expansion of the Puri–Rourkela–Puri Vande Bharat Express, doubling its coaches from 8 to 16 starting August 7.
The new configuration includes 12 AC chair cars, two executive chair cars, and two crew chair car coaches. Officials report that the train has been operating at over 110% capacity, a testament to its growing popularity.
The increase is intended to improve passenger service and bolster regional connectivity and economic growth. The Vande Bharat Express operates six days a week, covering the 505 km distance in 7.5 hours and stopping at nine major stations.
