Ticking Trade Clocks: Global Markets Brace for Trump's Tariff Deadlines
As President Trump's latest tariff deadline looms, negotiations with numerous countries remain unsettled. While agreements with the UK and Vietnam are finalized, deals with other nations are still developing. Trade frameworks with South Korea, the EU, Japan, and others are underway, but key details and deadlines are yet to be solidified.

With President Donald Trump's latest tariff deadline approaching on August 1, the pressure is mounting on global markets. Since the last deadline on July 9, some trade deals have been finalized, but many negotiations remain in flux.
Trump's announcement of extensive import taxes in April targeted goods from nearly every country, though many of these have been postponed. The initial pause was an attempt to ease global market tension and promote negotiations on trade deals.
Despite lofty goals, only two concrete deals have emerged since then, with the UK and Vietnam. As new frameworks with countries like South Korea, the EU, and Japan begin to form, crucial details are still elusive.
