Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has urged the adoption of a dynamic industrial policy aimed at maximizing the potential of the state's micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs). During a meeting with MSME officials, he underscored the importance of utilizing local artisans, raw materials, and notable industrial hubs such as Agra, Kanpur, and Unnao.
The Chief Minister reviewed the draft Uttar Pradesh Footwear, Leather and Non-Leather Sector Development Policy 2025, emphasizing a cluster-based development strategy. He advocated for integrating production, design, research, and training to draw substantial investments and create job opportunities for thousands of youths in the state.
Addressing infrastructure, he highlighted the necessity of developing advanced facilities like flatted factory complexes. The policy is expected to generate 22 lakh new jobs, positioning Uttar Pradesh as a significant player in the global footwear and leather market. The policy also focuses on addressing land utilization, process transparency, and investor confidence.
