In a scathing critique, Congress leader Manish Tewari has called for the Indian government to reclaim Air India from the Tata Group. Tewari alleges that the privatization of the national carrier has led to operational chaos and a lack of expert management.
Taking to social media platform X, the Chandigarh MP accused the Tata Group of mismanaging the airline, arguing that individuals traditionally involved in industries like tea and automotive are insufficiently experienced to helm an airline.
As the government privatized Air India in January 2022, handing it over to the Tata Group, Tewari insists the decision has been a 'disaster', citing frequent cancellations and delays as evidence of the airline's current troubles under Tata's leadership.
