Goa's New Trade Licence Reform: A Boon for Entrepreneurs

The Goa government has unveiled a major reform to facilitate business operations by enabling village panchayats to issue or renew trade licences for a duration of up to 10 years.

Chief Minister Pramod Sawant announced that this initiative aims to ensure transparency, efficiency, and business-friendly governance at the grassroots level, particularly benefiting startups and local entrepreneurs.

The Directorate of Panchayats issued a government-approved circular revising the trade licence format, allowing panchayats to issue licences valid for three, five, or ten years, based on the applicant's preference, therefore alleviating the annual renewal burden previously faced by entrepreneurs.
