In a significant stride toward self-reliance in unmanned aerial vehicles, LiHi Smart Batteries showcased its innovative lithium battery solutions at the 6th International Drone Expo in New Delhi. Part of the AKSI Aerospace Group, LiHi is committed to empowering India's drone industry with domestically developed energy solutions that cater specifically to local environmental and mission demands.
LiHi offers advanced battery packs in various configurations, aimed at meeting the diverse requirements of sectors such as Agriculture, Surveillance, and Defense. The company's smart Battery Management System (BMS) is central to their offerings, ensuring optimal charge distribution and thermal safety while providing reliable performance even in extreme Indian climates. COO Praveena Kokrady cited the batteries' proven resilience in the challenging conditions of Ladakh and Rajasthan as a significant competitive advantage.
Manufactured at a state-of-the-art facility in Hyderabad, LiHi batteries symbolize a larger push for indigenization in India's drone ecosystem. By focusing on in-house development of critical subsystems, LiHi aims to decrease dependency on imported technology. According to Pankaj Akula, Managing Director of AKSI Aerospace Group, the vision is to create an entirely self-sufficient infrastructure, ensuring robust development as the demand for drones continues to grow across different sectors.
