India reached a significant milestone in its defence sector as it received the final Airbus C-295 military transport aircraft from Spain. This delivery marks a crucial step in reinforcing India's air capabilities and replaces the ageing Avro fleet.
The aircraft, equipped with advanced technology, offers a flight endurance of up to 11 hours, enhancing India's tactical transport options. Indian Ambassador to Spain, Dinesh K Patnaik, praised the early delivery which boosts India's defence strength.
The deal, part of a 2021 contract, includes 56 aircraft in total, with the remaining 40 to be produced in India, largely at TATA Aircraft Complex. This facility is notable as the first private sector military aircraft assembly line in India.
