Three individuals, including a woman, were apprehended on Saturday for their involvement in damaging railway property and assaulting staff. The incident unfolded when they were discovered traveling in the first-class compartment of a Virar-bound train with lower-class tickets.
The confrontation took place at 3 PM in the ticket checkers' office at Borivali station, after being caught by a ticket-checking team led by Deputy Chief Ticket Inspector Shamsher Ibrahim. The individuals included two with second-class tickets and one traveling without a ticket between Andheri and Borivali.
The situation escalated at the TC office, resulting in the damage of a CPU, printer, and other items. Two railway staff members and one passenger sustained injuries and received medical treatment. Following a complaint by Western Railway, the railway police officially booked the three individuals.
