In a move that could reshape the future operations of India's railways, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla has pledged to champion the demands of public relations officers within the department. Speaking at the All India Railway Public Relations Seminar held in Kota, Rajasthan, on Saturday, Birla emphasized the indispensable role these officers play in fostering public trust and sharing critical information regarding train services.

During the seminar, for the first time organized by the Railway Public Relations cadre, officers from across the nation gathered to discuss operational practices and structural challenges faced by the department. The event showcased the unity and collective spirit of the cadre and highlighted the pressing need for cadre upgradation, among other concerns. Birla assured attendees that he would forward their demands to Minister of Railways Ashwini Vaishnaw.

The Bhartiya Railway Jansampark Karmi Kalyan Samiti lauded the seminar as a milestone event that not only spotlighted the department's challenges but also set a course for enhanced efficiency and cadre restructuring. The interactive session proved instrumental in laying a strong foundation for future advancements, ultimately aiming to solidify the role of the Public Relations Department as a vital 'bridge of trust' between the government and the populace.
