The proposed goods shed at Anantnag Railway Station is set to significantly aid the Food Corporation of India (FCI) in its operations to transport food grains across Kashmir, according to the Jammu Rail Division.

The initiative is expected to decrease both the cost and transit time involved in the movement of grain to the Kashmir Valley, confirmed Uchit Singhal, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Jammu Division, following a collaborative meeting between Railways and FCI.

Attended by several high-ranking officials, including Chatru Naik and Jagan from FCI, the meeting saw detailed discussions on enhancing freight logistics and an anticipated official announcement for Anantnag's goods shed soon. Alongside, strategies to boost traffic at FCI Jammu siding were also explored.
