Hindustan Power Powers Ahead with 435 MW Solar Project in UP

Hindustan Power announced on Wednesday the signing of a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation Limited for a significant 435 MW DC solar photovoltaic project in the state. The contract will see the company supply clean energy for 25 years, marking a major boost to the state's renewable energy objectives.
The project is a critical step in Uttar Pradesh's endeavor to reach its ambitious target of 22,000 MW of renewable energy by 2026-27. Awarded through a competitive bidding process in April 2025, this project not only aims to provide clean power but is also expected to generate employment and promote sustainable development within the local community.
Ratul Puri, Chairman of Hindustan Power, emphasized the company's commitment to executing the project efficiently, with ground-level operations such as stakeholder coordination and site development already underway. This venture is part of Hindustan Power's strategy to broaden its footprint in renewable energy nationwide, contributing to India's energy transition.
