Adani Power to Energize Bihar with New 2,400 MW Thermal Project
Adani Power has secured a Letter of Intent from Bihar State Power Generation Company to supply 2,274 MW of power to distribution companies in North and South Bihar. This will be achieved through a new 2,400 MW thermal power project in Bhagalpur District, marking significant progress for industrialization in the region.

Adani Power announced on Thursday that it has received a Letter of Intent from the Bihar State Power Generation Company Ltd. (BSPGCL) to supply 2,274 MW of power to the state's North and South Power Distribution Companies. The power will be generated from a newly developed 2,400 MW thermal plant in Bhagalpur District.
The company emerged as the lowest bidder in a competitive tender with a supply rate of Rs 6.075 per KWh. Adani Power will deploy a 3x800 MW Ultra-supercritical power plant under a Design, Build, Finance, Own, and Operate (DBFOO) model, ensuring advanced technology and low emissions.
Adani Power CEO S.B. Khyalia expressed satisfaction with the contract, stating the project will involve a $3 billion investment. The plant, benefiting from the SHAKTI fuel linkage policy, promises to boost Bihar's industrial growth and employment, with expectations of 10,000-12,000 jobs during construction and 3,000 in operation.
