Thane Metro Gears Up for Trial Run Next Month

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde revealed plans for the trial run of the Thane Metro next month, with full-scale operations projected by December. The metro extension is part of an initiative to improve connectivity across the Mumbai Metropolitan Region, enhancing last-mile and end-to-end travel solutions.

Shinde highlighted ongoing efforts to link Thane's internal metro network with the main lines to ensure integrated transport. He also mentioned significant infrastructure upgrades, including the Mumbai-Thane freeway extension, aiming to alleviate traffic and divert services away from congested city areas.

The deputy CM also noted the restoration of Jogila Lake and praised the community's proactive engagement, exemplified by the Thane Varsha Marathon and acts of patriotism, such as blood donations to soldiers by Shiv Sena's Chandrahar Patil and his team.
