In a significant development for Mumbai's infrastructure, the Dharmaveer Swarajya Rakshak Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Road, commonly known as the Mumbai Coastal Road, has been opened around the clock for all four-wheeled vehicles and buses, according to civic officials.
The directive to open all associated bridges, tunnels, and underpasses for traffic movement in both directions was issued on Friday. This marks the completion of the coastal road project, enhancing connectivity across the city.
With the full stretch operational, the north-bound connector from Khan Abdul Gaffar Khan Road to the Rajiv Gandhi Sea Link has been deemed redundant and, consequently, closed. This move is expected to streamline traffic flow along the newly opened thoroughfare.
