In a tragic accident, a train derailment in Pakistan's Punjab province resulted in the death of one passenger and injured 25 others on Sunday. The Awam Express was traveling from Peshawar to Karachi when it derailed in Lodhran district, around 400 km from Lahore.

Deputy Commissioner Lubna Nazir confirmed that four coaches went off-track, with three passengers critically injured. Rescue operations promptly transported the injured to a nearby hospital. Railway authorities have commenced track restoration procedures.

This derailment marks the third such incident in Punjab this month, following derailments of Musa Pak Express and Islamabad Express, both resulting in numerous injuries.
