An IndiGo flight traveling from Dibrugarh to Guwahati executed an unexpected 'go around' maneuver seconds before its scheduled landing at Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport in Guwahati, officials reported.
The airline clarified that there were no repercussions for the aircraft or its passengers as a result of this maneuver. A company source informed PTI that a go-around is a routine safety action pilots utilize if any landing anomaly arises, emphasizing the move is merely a precautionary measure.
Upon the aircraft's second descent attempt, it landed safely. Known as Flight 6E-187, the plane continued its journey post-necessary formalities. The go-around, or a missed approach, is a protocol for aborting a landing, ensuring passenger safety against potential issues such as runway obstructions or poor weather conditions.
