The Union Cabinet has given the green light for a new airport in Kota-Bundi, Rajasthan, with an estimated project cost of Rs 1,507 crore. The announcement follows a Cabinet meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The greenfield airport is designed to handle two million passengers annually and will be built on 1,089 acres of land provided by the Rajasthan government, outlined during a press briefing by Information & Broadcasting Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw.
This ambitious project will be funded by the Airports Authority of India through internal accruals and aims to significantly boost regional air connectivity, driving economic growth in the area. Completion is targeted within two years, promising a major infrastructural leap for the region.
