In a remarkable display of ingenuity and collaboration, students from Amity International Schools in Gurugram, Pushp Vihar, and Noida participated in the renowned International Space Settlement Design Competition (ISSDC) held at NASA's Kennedy Space Centre in Florida, USA. The competition saw students designing a futuristic human settlement in Venus's atmosphere, focusing on metal and gas extraction.
The ISSDC is known for its intense industry simulation, bringing together students from across the globe to work collaboratively on innovative space projects. This year, Amity students were part of Flectel Constructors, joining forces with participants from the UK, China, Mexico, Romania, Italy, and other Indian schools to design a settlement they named Ariadnav. Over 40 challenging hours, the teams developed a comprehensive proposal, later pitched to an international panel of experts.
Dr. (Mrs.) Amita Chauhan, Chairperson of Amity Group of Schools, lauded the participants' achievements, emphasizing the courage, creativity, and collaborative skills they demonstrated. This participation underscores Amity's dedication to STEM education and its goal of fostering leaders who push boundaries and innovate for global betterment.
