Despite global economic uncertainties, India's textile sector has recorded impressive growth figures, with exports rising by 5.37% to USD 3.10 billion in July 2025, compared to the previous year, the government announced on Wednesday.
This upbeat trajectory underlines the sector's significant contribution to employment and economic expansion, the Textile Ministry noted. The Directorate General of Commercial Intelligence & Statistics reported that cumulative textile exports grew by 3.87% to USD 12.18 billion from April to July 2025.
Notably, ready-made garments, jute, carpets, and handicrafts were key to this growth trend, underscoring India's diverse product strength ranging from cotton and MMF-based textiles to traditional handicrafts and eco-friendly jute.
