In response to US-imposed tariffs on Indian exports, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has called for strategic countermeasures to identify and develop alternative markets. Highlighting the resilience of India under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Fadnavis emphasized the need to turn adversity into opportunity at a key policy meeting.
Fadnavis announced plans to implement 100 reforms to enhance the state's Ease of Doing Business (EoDB) ecosystem. A 'War Room' will oversee these changes, ensuring effective execution through monthly reviews. The CM also advocated for the development of private industrial parks outside existing MIDC areas to foster growth.
Further measures include stronger support for MSMEs, streamlined industrial permit processes, and a robust single-window clearance system. Legal reforms will be communicated to field-level operators to ensure real impact. These efforts are part of a broader strategy to expedite clearances, promote sustainability, and prioritize agro-industries, strengthening Maharashtra's industrial landscape.
