On Senior Citizens Day, Tata AIG General Insurance Co. Ltd. has reiterated its focus on protecting India's aging population with its 'TATA AIG Elder Care' policy. Tailored for individuals aged 61 and above, the policy offers extensive coverage tackling both medical and lifestyle challenges faced by seniors today.
A NITI Aayog report titled 'Senior Care Reforms in India' reveals a concerning statistic that just 20% of the elderly in India have health insurance, leaving 78% without pension safeguards. This gap risks rising dependency on families and potential financial crises as aging individuals face increased healthcare costs and chronic illnesses.
Mr. Dinesh Mosamkar, Senior VP at Tata AIG, underscores the significance of 'Senior Citizens Day' in advocating for senior health and well-being. The Elder Care policy provides services such as home physiotherapy, nursing, personalized health management, and consultations. Furthermore, it encompasses treatments like dialysis and chemotherapy at home, AYUSH treatments, and infrastructure adjustments for better mobility.
With over 12,000 hospitals part of its network, Tata AIG ensures senior citizens benefit from cashless treatments, relieving financial burdens on families. This initiative marks a pivotal contribution in bridging the healthcare protection gap for India's aging demographic.
