An autorickshaw driver suffered injuries and became trapped in his vehicle following a collision with a trailer truck in Thane city during the early hours of Friday. Firefighters were dispatched to the scene to conduct a swift rescue operation, revealed a municipal official.

The crash occurred near the Shell petrol pump at the Pachpakhadi area along the Eastern Express Highway. The driver, Sahebrao Yadav, was pinned inside the wrecked vehicle after a high-impact collision, according to Yasin Tadvi, head of the Thane Municipal Corporation's Disaster Management Cell.

Firefighters, equipped with one engine and a rescue vehicle, responded to an alert at 3.44 am. They succeeded in freeing Yadav in just 15 minutes. He was then taken to the District Government Hospital. Meanwhile, the trailer driver fled the scene, and authorities are actively searching for him.
