Mother Dairy, a prominent player in the dairy industry and a subsidiary of the National Dairy Development Board, announced the transfer of GST reduction benefits to consumers. With this change effective from September 22, prices for products such as paneer, ghee, and butter will be reduced.
The company confirmed that while paneer prices will drop from Rs 95 to Rs 92, one-litre ghee cartons will see a reduction from Rs 675 to Rs 645. Other products, including ice cream and frozen foods, are also set to witness price cuts.
Mother Dairy attributes this shift to a governmental reduction in GST, which now features only two slabs, 5 and 28 percent. This measure is expected to bolster demand, benefiting not only consumers but the entire dairy supply chain.
