SpiceJet Expands Fleet with Eight New Boeing 737 Leases for Winter

SpiceJet has announced the leasing of eight additional Boeing 737 aircraft, bolstering its fleet in preparation for the upcoming winter schedule starting in late October. The move is part of the airline's strategy to address the growing demand for air travel during the festive and winter season.

With this expansion, SpiceJet plans to increase its fleet to a total of 18 new aircraft, demonstrating robust commitment to enhancing its service offerings. As of mid-September, SpiceJet was operating 19 aircraft out of a total fleet of 53, according to data from Planespotter.com.

Despite gearing up for fleet growth, the airline faced financial challenges, reporting a net loss of Rs 238 crore for the quarter ending June 2025.
