BlackBuck, a logistics startup headquartered in Bengaluru, has announced its decision to relocate from the city's Outer Ring Road (ORR) area, citing deteriorating road conditions and lengthy commute times.

The company, which has operated from Bellandur on the ORR for nearly a decade, expressed growing difficulties for employees amid worsening infrastructure. Co-Founder and CEO Rajesh Yabaji mentioned that broken roads, potholes, and dust have made the area almost uninhabitable, prompting the move.

Yabaji highlighted that the average commute had ballooned to over 1.5 hours each way, diminishing productivity. Despite frequent complaints from locals and businesses, the expectation for road improvements remains bleak for the next five years.

The ORR, a significant hub for tech companies, faces persistent challenges like traffic congestion and lack of timely civic maintenance. Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar addressed these civic shortcomings, promising accountability and regular inspections.

Shivakumar urged citizens to cooperate and pay taxes to aid in governance improvement, acknowledging that alleviating Bengaluru's infrastructural problems will require time and effort.
