Streamlining Success: Maharashtra's Push for Rapid Industrial Approvals

Maharashtra's Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, has instructed officials to simplify the process of establishing new industries by decreasing the number of required permissions and expediting approval times. This initiative is part of efforts to maintain the state's status as India's premier investment destination.

During a 'Ease of Doing Business' reform meeting, Fadnavis proposed using AI to develop an online system for building permissions, allowing for faster, automated processing. He emphasized the creation of a single-window mechanism to consolidate necessary clearances.

Fadnavis also highlighted the need for improved cooperation between district administrations and state departments to minimize delays, which often deter investment. These initiatives are geared towards attracting more investment and positioning Maharashtra as a USD 1 trillion economy.
