Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu revealed an ambitious plan to invest over Rs 70,000 crore in irrigation projects from 2024 to 2029, addressing the Andhra Pradesh Assembly on Friday.
Naidu pointed out a significant increase in the state's irrigation efforts, comparing the estimated future spending to previous investments. He announced the interlinking of all 40 rivers in Andhra Pradesh, a move expected to invigorate the agricultural sector.
Projects such as the Polavaram project and nine upcoming endeavors aim to expand and stabilize irrigation coverage across lakhs of acres. Highlighting the importance of proper resource management, Naidu criticized prior governmental neglect and defended PPP agreements to boost efficiency.
