Sweden's right-wing government is set to pump approximately 80 billion crowns, equivalent to $8.5 billion, into the national economy with the 2026 budget, a strategy aimed at reviving growth sluggishness ahead of the general elections next September.

A significant highlight of the forthcoming budget is the allocation of 30 billion crowns toward tax cuts, which includes reduced taxes on income, pensions, and electricity. Furthermore, 7 billion crowns will be funneled into boosting small businesses through tax reductions and incentives for youth employment.

Additionally, defense spending will see a significant increase of 26.6 billion crowns, enabling new materiel acquisitions and improved salaries for military personnel. The government also plans to cut the VAT on food to 6% temporarily and adjust social welfare, offering rent subsidies while reducing benefits for larger families.
