State-owned NHAI has unveiled plans to install project information signboards featuring quick response (QR) codes along National Highway stretches. These innovative signboards aim to deliver crucial information and emergency helpline numbers to commuters, according to a statement released on Friday.
The vertical QR Code Sign Boards will furnish project-specific details, such as the national highway number, highway chainage, and essential contact numbers for highway patrol, toll managers, and resident engineers, alongside the emergency helpline 1033.
Planned to be positioned at key locations like wayside amenities, rest areas, toll plazas, and highway entry and exit points, the QR code signboards are set to significantly boost road safety. By facilitating better access to emergency and local information, they promise to enhance user experience and broaden awareness about National Highways nationwide.
