Jammu and Kashmir Bank has stepped up in support of the region's flood victims, contributing Rs 4.10 crore to the Chief Minister's Relief Fund. This financial aid aims to bolster ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts for affected residents in the Union territory.
Amitava Chatterjee, MD and CEO of J-K Bank, along with the Board of Directors, personally presented the relief cheque to Chief Minister Omar Abdullah at the Civil Secretariat. Abdullah highlighted the importance of institutional solidarity in alleviating hardships for flood-stricken families.
Over 150 fatalities have been reported due to severe weather conditions, with infrastructure severely impacted. The damages include over 4,000 homes, 70 bridges, and more than 3,000 km of roads. J-K Bank's contribution demonstrates its sustained commitment to community welfare during distressing times.
