In a tragic accident early Sunday morning, a tanker loaded with liquid carbon dioxide veered off the Afzalgarh–Kashipur Road and fell into the Nachna River. The incident occurred around 2.30 am, authorities confirmed.

Police revealed that the tanker smashed through a culvert's railing before its deadly plunge. The grim discovery of driver Satyapal, aged 35, and cleaner Robin, aged 32, was made after rescuers cut open the vehicle's cabin.

Both men were residents of Pipli village in the Tanda area of Rampur district. Their bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination as investigations continue.
